Becoming a Jet Fighter Pilot

03.30.06

In the early 90’s I could swear that 80% of the Jordanian guys wanted to be Air Force pilots, join the Air Forces fly an F-16 or any jet fighter plane to defend the country or any other reason they have . It is strange how we used to grow to love that job, we always admire Air Force pilots and consider them as cool person. I never forgot the first time I watched Top Gun, I guess this movie had a big effect on the guys at that period that is why all wanted to become Jordanian Maverick’s and get all the cute girls the money and fly a jet plane, what more a guy would need back then. Being a jet fighter is very cool but not easy, lot of focus, well, dedication and most important loyality to your country. To be honest, Jordanian Air Force fighters proved more than once how good they are and that they are the in top of Arab countries. It is different today, you can hardly see a kid who is interested in joining the air force and become a fighter for his country or even join the Army, I wonder why? Is it because today’s Ideology has changed, or because what they show on TV is different than what we used to see. Or……
I guess the Army needs to do a campaign so that young people know what a privilege is it to work in there……

Watch the Solar Eclipse Live!

03.28.06

Tomorrow 29th March 2006 will have a partial solar eclipse in Jordan & a full eclipse in some areas like egypt, turkey, etc.

Whether people feel pessimistic or optimistic about the eclipse, it will be an event that many would like to watch!

I have found this live link (Webcam) which will feature live motion pictures of the eclipse from turkey, directly from the satelite.
Regarding Jordan, the eclipse of the sun will start at 11:45 AM Amman time, it will traverses half the earth, the eclipse will first appear in Brazil and from there extend to across north Africa and Asia.

We should be careful from looking at the sun directly during the eclipse period; and wear special glasses to protect the eyes from sun rays.

enjoy!

    France And Melissa Theuriau

    03.21.06

Call me weird but I like France. I love their food, I love their desserts, I love their cheese, I love their beaches and I love their mountains. Everything in France is different, one thing they have in France that not anywhere on this earth have is Melissa.
Every morning million of French people wake up to watch the lovely Melissa Theuriau, she is a popular French news anchor, she is not just the plain boring news anchor you see on TV everyday.

Melissa Theuriau is already legendary on the internet for her beauty and her breezy outfits. Admit it, where on earth can you find such a cute news anchor and wear such pretty dress instead of those boring formal wear? Imagine how popular Jordan TV will be if we had a Jordanian Melissa Theuriau.

A magician never loses his touch!

    Milan 90’s team is back!

What a night it was, yesterday night was definitely a special night!
I was watching Albertini’s farewell celebrity match which was held at Milan’s San Siro stadium on TV.
Albertini’s fellow team mates played vs. Barcelona’s dream team.
Albertini said that he doesn’t want to think about the last time he will touch the green rectangle, it was fun watching him score his last goal, yet one of his most beautiful goals from a free kick, but it was sad as well watching him waving goodbye to the 35,000 spectators.

The match brought together former Milan greats, including Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard and Franco Baresi, with members of the current Milan and Barcelona sides, such as Andriy Shevchenko from Milan and Ronaldinho & Eto’o from Barcelona.

Take a look at some snapshots from yesterday’s dream night and if you missed Marco van Basten’s amazing goal then you’ve missed a lot!! Really, a magician never loses his touch!

The 80 minutes match ended 4-2 for Milan by the way.

    Microsoft Secret Gadget was …

    03.12.06

Microsoft has made a big cloud over their new gadget & finally its released. check OrigamiProject.com. I have read a lot of reviews about their new device which is a combination of GSM Mobile device & a PDA or a semi Laptop environment running under a lite Windows XP version. The size is too big for a mobile; someone can compare it to a tablet PC, so we cannot call it a mobile. Also, we cannot call it a laptop as it has limited programs range & limited memory and storage. The worse thing I read about it was the battery; they say it only last for 3 hours of intensive use. Another cons were having no EDGE, GPRS or 3G, it has only Wi-Fi. The price range is around 500$ (expected) as its still not released officially yet.
